Ah, the freeman’s life: doing what you want, when you want. But actually, I think I’ve lost that ability to enjoy long holidays that kids seem to have (and I don’t want any of you parents quoting the immortal line, “I’m booorrred!”, at me). Possibly it’s a lack of imagination or maybe it’s just that there’s few people around to spend it with. Who knows? It’s just not as fun as the good ol’ school holidays: riding around on your bike, sitting in parks, sleepovers etc. Ho hum!
Having tidied up my room (aka. moving all the rubbish into the little room), I’ve setup all my studio equipment so that should provide me with ample entertainment for the rest of the holiday. On top of that, there’s the DVD club I’ve joined (averaging one a day), the punchbag, the library, the garden, the women and other such leisurely pursuits.
Oh yeah, and I’m thinking of climbing the 3 peaks. So, any other similar bumming-about types that wanna go and do a bit of hill walking, get in touch.
I’m not even going to begin (oh, I already have) to expand on the 2nd generation rant of a while ago. Although, my uncle did say something very true. It was in reference to Sri Lanka. “We need to learn to celebrate our diversity”. This was shortly after I had sat through a tri-lingual service at church. Man, that was mentally taxing!
Here’s looking at you, kid.
