It’s been a whole week since I’ve seen Shani. My mum was lucky enough to get some time off work to spend with Gehana and Aminda so I got some news of the latest sleeping/feeding patterns and I can see her wriggling around in my head again.
My thoughts drift back to last weekend: Sunday morning when I hear a knock on the door (I’m sleeping in the lounge) to bring me out of my sleep. My mum, sister and Shani walk in. Obviously, being 2 months old, Shani isn’t walking in, but you get the gist. As I open my just-woken-up eyes, I find Shani on the pillow next to me, wriggling around and uttering apparently random noises as she is wont to do.
Only retrospectively, did I notice that, at that time in the morning, I was also, “wriggling around and uttering apparently random noises” which I guess puts us at about the same mental level.
And I won’t even see her next weekend
I can’t think what I’ll be like when she grows older!
Incidentally, new additions to this site are an ‘About Me’ page, because every personal web site has one, and a small rearrangement of things to make it make more sense. I’ll probably end up publishing some of my less personal writings on this site… look forward to that, you must!
